Individual coaching is where I get to give you the focus and priority you deserve! In these sessions, I tap into my natural curiosity and deep empathy to connect with what it is that you need during any given session, and get the results you are wanting in life! My coaching philosophy
Whether it is through a coaching session, one of my groups, a workshop or a class, I have a mission: I strive to partner with people on a journey. Like the journey of the Phoenix rising from the ashes, it’s a journey from being broken to becoming whole; a journey where my clients go from feeling lost, confused, and unsafe to a place of feeling safe, empowered, and having clarity.
My vision is for my clients to be able to say, “I have learned that I can heal. I have discovered who I truly am – my worth, my value — and I love who I am! I am whole and strong. I am connected to my truth and my voice. No one will ever be able to take that from me again, and I will never betray my voice or my truth again. I trust myself, and that is enough.”
How does coaching differ from therapy?
As a coach working collaboratively with therapists, I view therapy as an integral part of the healing process, especially when healing from trauma. Therapists traditionally help their clients fix problems, overcome issues, diagnose and manage mental illness. They provide therapeutic interventions specific to trauma or abuse, often looking to family of origin issues.
Coaches do not diagnose or help manage mental illness, analyze behavior, or spend much time on family of origin issues. Coaches do not focus on the past. The past is only the focus of coaching as a learning/growing tool, and if part of the present situation. A coach focuses on solutions to current life circumstances; clarifying values the client will feel authentic living by, and identifying goals that will empower the client to effect positive change in their life. In summary, the therapist usually helps the client figure out the why, while the coach helps the client focus on the how.
I believe that therapists are often a critical part of the healing team, along side coaches. As needed, I will refer to a therapist, but can continue to work with my client on her journey to wholeness, strength, and self-trust. Unique to coaching, I offer “check-ins” with clients between appointments. The coach/client relationship allows for flexibility in the mode of communication that is needed. Sessions are conducted in person, on the phone, or via Zoom.
How does a coach differ from a sponsor?
Sponsors are not paid professionals or specifically trained. They benefit personally from the service they give their sponsee in order to stay clean and sober or abstinent themselves. A sponsor’s job is to help their sponsee stay clean, abstinent, or sober by working through the 12-steps and using the program and fellowship effectively to stop the addictive or unhealthy behavior. Sponsors have a singleness of purpose that they stick with the steps and traditions. Often the focus is on cleaning up the past.
A coach’s role is to support the client in creating and living a great life. A coach isn’t limited to using the steps and traditions and can work with you on your dreams and plans and help you effectively find solutions to problems.

What is coaching?
Life coaches work with people in all areas of their life including relationships, career, health and more. Coaching, simply put, focuses on the coach partnering with their client to identify values, goals, obstacles to those goals, and action steps to overcome those obstacles and reach their goals. Coaches look to do this through listening, observing, and asking powerful questions.
This may look like: asking clarifying questions; reflecting back needs, desires, strengths, and feelings; teaching tools that help reframe thoughts and attitudes, keep a person grounded/present, or break negative habits; brain-storming to uncover how to either overcome obstacles, or identify action steps to achieve goals; education.
Why do I need a life coach? Can't I do this myself?
Life coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations. More often than not, people try to achieve their greatest potential, but don’t even realize what stands in their way, especially when we’re feeling traumatized, hurt or betrayed. A coach’s training will help draw out your values, which provide clarity for life’s decisions and inform your life’s goals in work, relationships, healthy boundaries, and so much more!
